Swimming Started!

High School — alisa on January 22, 2005 at 2:11 pm

I almost forgot to mention (I was excited about my new site counter) that swimming started again today. It was so great to be back in the water. I thought that I would have forgotten how to do everything, but I didn’t. We swam 3100 yards! That’s a lot! It is almost 2 miles, just so you can get a picture. It wasn’t too hard, because it is our first time in the water in a couple of months. There was a pretty big turnout, nonetheless.

New Site Counter

I installed a new site counter on my blog. I put it in invisible mode, and it is waaaaayy better than that “Cool Counters” one. Would you like a link?

StatCounter

Oh yeah! You, from Atlanta, Georgia, yes, it tracked you. Were you linking me in your blog? Or copying my music machine? Because you visited my site twice and both times you came from adjusting your template.

There was also a person from Japan who was blerfing (Bloggers are notorius for creating words. This is mine: blurfing=blog surfing, v. to use visit many blogs in a relatively short amount of time, just reading the first few posts and moving on if it bores you.) because she/he visited a blog in Danish or some crazy European language before visiting my blog. She/He could not read English very well, because she/he stayed for less than 5 seconds.

Pretty snazzy, eh? So if you want a counter, I highly reccomend this one.

It was his Choice

I was watching CBS world news last night, and they were showing footage of the Inauguration. There were protesters, obviously, and they asked one lady why she was mad, and she said something to the effect of:

My son was killed in Iraq. It’s all Bush’s fault.

Ok, let’s think about this. Her son wanted to be in the armed forces. It was his job to kill and be killed. That’s what you pledge to do when you sign up. It is [ever so indirectly] Bush’s fault, but who was the one who chose that career?

There isn’t a draft, for Pete’s sake…

Done….FOREVER!
