National Frozen Food Day

Today, March 6th, is National Frozen Food Day. A.K.A. eat cardboard day!

I looked around and found a site that promotes this day. They offer great tips and interesting thoughts.

Imagine how your busy life would be if you didn’t have a frozen dinner to pop into the microwave in between a late day at work and your evening event. You’d have to stop and make a dinner from scratch!

Wow, imagine that.

The site says, “Start your day with by popping a frozen breakfast into the microwave.” Mmhmm! Nothing says good morning like a frozen waffle.

“For lunch, select among a wide array of frozen lunch treats.” Hot pockets, anyone?

“Dinner: If you are in a hurry, you’re in luck. The selection of dinner entrees is seemingly endless.” I’m going to go with a pizza.

“Snack time is the perfect time for ……ice cream!”

So today is the day to eat crap for food. Here’s the food, by the facts.
1 serving Kellogg’s Eggo Banana Bread Waffles - 212 calories
1 serving Hot Pockets Ham N’ Cheese - 681 calories (44% of recommended daily fat intake)
1/3 of a Red Baron Pepperoni pizza - 320 calories
1/2 cup Vanilla Breyers no sugar added ice cream - 99 calories

So we were well under 2,000 calories. Pretty good if you’re on a low calorie diet. We met low-calorie standards, but did we meet anything else (like vitamin intake)? Not really. Oh well, it’s only one day of eating cardboard crap. Enjoy!

*edit* The song is downloadable now. Sorry about that.
