		<description>I can provide some insight into this since my roommates during freshman year were the photo editor and assistant photo editor of our college paper. From what I gather it's usually the photo editors and layout editors that alter the photos to fit the story. The way a photo is displayed is very dependent on how the story needs to fit on a page. The photographers themselves hardly ever did any of the editing -- then again, most of them didn't seem to have a lot of know-how in that area. Makes you unique, in that sense :-)

My advice: just become the photo editor!</description>
